The Malerweg takes you from the tranquil village of Wehlen via the Bastei and the Schwedenlöcher to the Polenz Valley. The steep ascent to the “Balcony of Saechsische Schweiz” rewards you with a stunning view. The first day of the hike ends in the small, tranquil town of Hohnstein with its castle complex.
On the second day, early risers have the opportunity to experience the sunrise "live" - a unique natural spectacle! Clouds of mist rise from the Elbe Valley to the flatness and lie thick and fluffy between the table mountains of the Lilien-, Papst- and Königstein. The hike then continues via a steep valley descent to the Ochelwaende. From here you enjoy the spectacular view to the Saechsische Schweiz. We hike over to the heights of Altendorf down to Bad Schandau.
